How we're managing business during the pandemic

Blend wants to update all clients and potential clients on how we are currently managing business during COVID-19.

The creative ideation, writing, and pre-production work will continue to be led from Los Angeles, remotely, making it as safe and contactless as possible for all clients, in any location.

For the productions themselves, we’ll have to be fluid and agile as to where we choose to shoot based on timing and client needs.

Although we do film primarily in and around Los Angeles, we also have deep experience filming across the country and throughout Europe, Seoul, Reykjavik, Uruguay, and elsewhere.

When we shoot, we will be following best in class COVID production protocols…. which currently include the white paper submitted to the Governors of CA and NY.

These include:

  • Mandatory COVID compliance officer
  • Contactless pre-production workflow
  • Remote casting
  • Limited crew size
  • Contactless equipment rentals
  • Remote real time direction
  • Remote media workflows
  • No buffet foods
  • Mandatory masks
  • Remote video village + camera streaming (clients can attend or not attend ‘the option of’)
  • Handwashing stations
  • Staggered work times for crew and talent
  • Regular, periodic testing of cast + crew

It’s important to remember that COVID compliance standards for on set and on location shooting protocols will evolve over the next weeks and months and vary from location to location.

The last few months, we have been doing limited on set productions, using very small crews and talent, and testing all crew and staff every day. As we move forward and begin producing larger shoots, Blend’s nimble and fluid business model is prepared to serve clients safely and effectively.
